After a few minutes of fumbling in front of one of our larger customers, I finally searched the the Help looking for the Hyperterm program. HyperTerminal is communications software developed by Hilgraeve and is included in Windows 3.x through Windows XP. HyperTerminal can now use the SSH protocol to securely log in to a server or other computer over. I then began searching for the Hyperterm program to gain access to the Cisco routers. HyperTerminal is now compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 (except RT). I made my serial connections to the router and was already to go.

Rangel has planned big things for the future releases of ClearTerminal. Rangel further added that these features are not available with any other free terminal program. Some of the advantages that the HyperTerminal presents are that it is free, it is user friendly and it has even more useful features for wireless developers than the Microsoft Windows version of HyperTerminal ever did. Rangel is of the opinion that there are many advantages to the HyperTerminal-like tool.

Ryan Rangel, CTO of ClearConnex, stated that without HyperTerminal, there were no free downloads that could provide the comprehensive tool set that is necessary for M2M device software development.
